چکیده

The rock will be damaged and destroyed when the external load reaches bearing limit, which accompanied by complex AE signals damage evolution laws. Therefore, in order to obtain relationship between signal characteristics of rocks, 4 kinds sandstones a mine are used for test. Firstly, porosity sandstone is tested. Secondly, parameter with different analyzed. Finally, parameters obtained combined cellular automata theory analyze law critical value sandstones. results show that pore size four QSYX > QSYZ FSYX FSYZ. loading process divided into compaction stage, elastic deformation plastic peak strengths 46.92 MPa, 43.32 57.87 54.31 respectively. Or event rate, missing area, parts number different. area larger than FSYZ; macrocrack growth speed also faster; signs fracture obvious. more QSYX, QSYZ, first two caused internal defects; last fracture; FSYZ shear failure, tensile failure. corresponds one one. calm stage expansion acceleration stage. values 0.438, 0.499, 0.576, 0.476, respectively, higher cell model 0.43, indicating reach value, instability exists failure occur continuous load.

Study of the Frictional Surface Damage Using Acoustic Emission Method

In this study, the change at rubbing surfaces has been investigated experimentally using an acoustic emission signal monitoring system. A steel ring is slipped on the surface of  a metallic sheet to simulate frictional conditions. The mechanical disturbances caused by the movement of the ring produce stress waves propagating along the sheet surface. The out of plane displacement of the sheet su...

On the Use of Acoustic Emission and Digital Image Correlation for Welded Joints Damage Characterization

A series of tests have been conducted to investigate fatigue damage characterization in corroded welded steel plates using structural health monitoring (SHM) techniques. Acoustic Emission (AE) is a non-destructive testing (NDT) technique with potential applications for locating and monitoring fatigue cracks in service. In the present work, AE is implemented to characterize damage during crack e...

Time evolution of damage under variable ranges of load transfer.

We study the time evolution of damage in a fiber bundle model in which the range of interaction of fibers varies through an adjustable stress transfer function recently introduced. We find that the lifetime of the material exhibits a crossover from mean-field to short-range behavior as in the static case. Numerical calculations showed that the value at which the transition takes place depends o...

Determination of Damage Constitutive Behavior for Rock Salt Under Uniaxial Compression Condition with Acoustic Emission

The mechanical characteristics of rock salt have an important influence on the safety of the salt cavity. The acoustic emission (AE) technique was used to analyze the generation of microcracks in rock salt under uniaxial compression condition. By monitoring acoustic emission in whole process of stress strain curve under uniaxial compression test, the damage characteristic of rock salt is obtain...

Acoustic emission beamforming for enhanced damage detection

As civil infrastructure ages, the early detection of damage in a structure becomes increasingly important for both life safety and economic reasons. This paper describes the analysis procedures used for beamforming acoustic emission techniques as well as the promising results of preliminary experimental tests on a concrete bridge deck. The method of acoustic emission offers a tool for detecting...
